General Rules

  • Neither the jack or any of the woods should be moved either by the players or the referee until agreement has been reached. If either woods are removed by one of the layers before agreement has been reached, it will be assumed that the wood or woods in doubt will be awarded to the player who has Not moved either woods or jack.

  • If a wood looks as if it may fall over you are allowed to wait 30 seconds

  • You can not change your woods throughout the competition. The only exception to this rile is if a wood gets broken.

  • Please sign up for competitions on the notice board by the week before the competition date.  If not enough players the competition may be cancelled or postponed.

  • The draw will take place at 6:50 on the night of the competition. Please arrive at least 5 minutes prior to this to be included in the draw unless a specific arrangement has been made with the competition secretary.

Referee

  1.   Must be impartial

  2.   No advice may be given

  3.   Only give information if asked, e.g. Who is shot, distance etc.

  4.   Measure if required

  5.   Do no move any woods or  jack until all players agree

  6.   The referee’s decision is final

  7.   Must not be related to any of the players unless no one else is available.

Singles Competition Rules

1.     3 Wood Knock Out

2.     Toss for the Jack

3.     9 Ends

4.     Final 11 Ends

5.     Going to the head is allowed

6.     If the Jack is knocked off the mat – played end no score

7.     If scores are tied after the last end, an extra end to be played. Toss for the jack

8.     Otherwise league rules apply

Doubles Competition Rules

1.   Toss for the Jack

2.   9 Ends, may vary according to the number of entrants

3.   Final 11 Ends

4.   NO going to the head

5.   Can change position at any time

6.   If the Jack is knocked off the mat – played end no score

7.    If scores are tied after the last end, an extra end to be played. Toss for the jack

8.   Otherwise league rules apply

Triples Competition Rules

1.   2 wood triples, if not enough players may be played as 3 wood doubles.

2.  Draw for partners

3.  First team on the board has the Jack

4.  8 Ends. May vary according to numbers

5.  NO going to the head

6.  Can only change position at the end of a session

7.   If the Jack is knocked off the mat – played end no score

8.  Otherwise league rules apply

9.  2 points for a win, 1 point for a tie.  If at the end of the matches there is a tie the winner is :

         a.     The one with the most shots

         b.     If still tied the one with the best aggregate.
